Profile of Aaron

Aaron O’Brien
Designer, Adam No Eve.
Describe your label in three words: Masculine, edgy, modern.
Best part about being a designer: Being able to create pieces that I could never find in shops and seeing people wear the designs we create.
Worst part about being a designer: The politics of the fashion world.
If you weren’t a designer you would… probably attempt to be in a band as I play the drums. Or some form of marketing job, I enjoy that side of business.
The most unexpected part about being a designer: Getting your hands dirty. You’d be surprised at how many designers there are out there who don’t even own a sewing machine or a pair of pliers! I had to get all the silt out of my nails just then.
Is your label green or mean? A lot of our packaging is recycled, like with our cufflink bags, the insides are old shirts. A lot of the time we’ll track down a designer who has a cool fabric, and they might have an excess 20-odd metres or whatever and we’re like, cool, we’ll make something out of that instead of chucking it and dumping it like a lot of people do.
